President Donald Trump was a keynote speaker at the recent NRA convention held in Texas. This was the National Rifle Association Meeting since 2019
Trump told the conference: “The existence of evil in our world is not a reason to disarm law-abiding citizens. The existence of evil is one of the very best reasons to arm law-abiding citizens.” He accused the Democrats of trying to unfairly demonize gun owners, “Every time a disturbed or demented person commits a hideous crime there is always a grotesque effort by some in our society to advance their own extreme political agenda.”
Trump called for overhauling the national approach to school security. He stated all schools should have metal detectors, hardened interior doors, armed security . armed teachers and strong fencing
President Donald Trump also took notice of politicians who did not show up to the National Rifle Associations annual convention in Houston. Many scheduled speakers canceled appearances at the event after the school shooting at Rob Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. “I’m honored to be here in the great state of Texas, with the wonderful patriots of the NRA. And unlike some, I didn’t disappoint you by not showing up. Got to show up,” Trump said.
